In the first month after starting my own UI/UX agency, I made $1,600

About 2-3 months ago, I launched my own UI/UX design agency and started sharing UI/UX design content on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Medium, and other platforms. Along with offering valuable insights, I also promoted the services I provide. My approach focused on sharing knowledge, which led to some posts gaining a lot of attention and likes, mostly from other designers.

After a month, I heard from three people: a tech entrepreneur who’s a backend engineer, a florist from another state, and a young person with a mobile product MVP needing UI improvements.

The florist provided their contact info and a preferred time to chat, but I couldn’t reach them when I followed up. The young person looking for UI improvements chose someone else after comparing options. However, the backend engineer was very impressed after a 2-day trial of my services and found that I was exactly what he needed—a designer with a product mindset. He became my first client and has been subscribing to my design services weekly for the past four weeks.
The joy I felt when a knowledge-sharing post was so well received, and the thrill of getting my first inquiry and client, was incredible. This experience has taught me a lot and made me stronger. I hope my journey can offer help and inspiration to others."

In my first month, I earned $1,600.
After three months of learning UI/UX and four months of making sacrifices to create material that would garner attention, I made $1,600.

That’s amazing—congratulations on landing your first client and getting your agency up and running! It’s fantastic to see how sharing your expertise and putting yourself out there is paying off. Turning your connection with the backend engineer into a loyal client really highlights your skills and the value you offer. Starting an agency is a big step, and it’s clear you’re on the right track.
I completely understand the thrill of seeing your hard work start to pay off. It sounds like you’re building something truly special, and I’m sure more clients will come your way.

"Earning $1,600 in your first month is a significant achievement—congratulations on such a successful client conversion!

Follow-ups can be tough but are crucial for turning leads into clients. I’ve found CRM tools to be incredibly useful for tracking where each prospect is in the pipeline and setting reminders so nothing slips through the cracks, especially with everything going on daily.

Sharing valuable content is key as it acts as a lead magnet. Trial offers can be effective too; for you, this might be a free design audit or a brief consultation and roadmap.
Do you have a website with your portfolio that I could check out?"

Congratulations on your accomplishment! I’d love to get in touch with you and benefit from your knowledge.
