Debt exceeding six figures. Should I declare bankruptcy?

Unfortunately, I tried to launch a firm with my own funds, which was a grave mistake. I gave it everything I had, and I ended up losing everything. A few personal loans and a few of CCs. I have to move out of my flat soon as well, but I don’t have any money, and my credit has gotten worse. Without a doubt, living pay cheque to pay cheque in survival mode. I’m incredibly afraid and nervous. Very anxious. I just signed up for a debt consolidation program that will get underway in a few weeks. That should be somewhat helpful. I would much appreciate any guidance.

Seeking bankruptcy is something you should discuss with a lawyer. Even the study is a pretty complex procedure that you cannot really, truly competently perform by yourself. That being said and this is not legal advice you seem like a great candidate for Chapter 7, and bankruptcy temporarily stops an eviction.

You already tried the debt consolidation program, so give it a try first. In 2017, I filed for bankruptcy with a little over $1,000,000. Because I had paid off my car at the time of the discharge, I had far less credit card debt and could keep my vehicle. I opened a few credit cards in a few years to raise my score. My credit was in the 700s, yet I was still able to purchase a house last year.

Verify that the debt consolidation organisation is a debt management organisation, such as consumer credit counselling, rather than a debt settlement company. By simply ceasing all payments to creditors in the hopes that they will settle for less, going the debt settlement path could land you in legal hot water.

Did the debt settlement company say whether they would defend you in court if you were sued, whether you can be taxed on debt forgiveness, and did they make their costs and payment schedules crystal clear? If I can file for bankruptcy, I would rather. If that money can be released, why return it all? Much sooner, you can begin to get back on track.

It is best to speak with a bankruptcy professional about whether or not you should file for bankruptcy.

Which kind of company did you attempt to launch?
